Former JOURNEY drummer Deen Castronovo has joined the rock 'n' roll collective known as THE DEAD DAISIES for the recording of the band's new album, due in early 2018.
THE DEAD DAISIES said in a statement: "Deen is here in Nashville with us where we are beginning the recording of the new album today. We'd like to thank Brian Tichy who has decided to pursue other projects next year. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours. We cannot wait for you guys to hear this new album we are working on! It will be a real bone-shaker!"
Castronovo was a member of JOURNEY from 1998 to 2015. He has also played also played drums with Ozzy Osbourne and Geezer Butler, as well as with Steve Vai and Paul Rodgers.
Deen and DEAD DAISIES guitarist Doug Aldrich previously collaborated in REVOLUTION SAINTS, whose second album, "Light In The Dark", came out in October.
Castronovo's seventeen-year tenure with JOURNEY ended two years ago when the band fired him after his arrest for a variety of charges involving a former fiancée, including physical abuse, coercion, and unlawful use of a weapon. He later spent fifteen days in jail and was sent to rehab for the fifth time, this time for seventy-five days at the Hazelden Betty Ford Springbrook facility in Beaverton, Oregon.
THE DEAD DAISIES' current lineup is completed by founder/guitarist David Lowy, bassist Marco Mendoza (THIN LIZZY) and vocalist/guitarist John Corabi (MÖTLEY CRÜE, THE SCREAM).
