In collaboration with By Norse Music (Ivar Bjørnson's own imprint), Enslaved are releasing their 1992 demo Yggdrasill as a fully remastered re-issue on digipack CD with a 12 page booklet, and a very limited to 300 hand-numbered coloured A-side/B-side effect 12" vinyl edition on December 2.
"For a band seemingly obsessed with the concepts of roots and what springs from them; that would be us, yes - Yggdrasill is the exploding seed, the rampant alpha and the All from which everything we do and do not today springs. It is a release of which I am immensely proud of and have endless tenderness for. Youthful pure passion for music, disregard for any perceived rules and dogmas - I try to let this inspire everything we do to this day, however different we may or may not sound today. Getting to finally release this in proper fashion through By Norse Music, the label I own and run with my best friends - now that is truly a massive milestone for me" - Ivar Bjørnson
It features all five songs from the demo plus the bonus track "Enslaved" on both formats. The layout of the vinyl and CD feature an informative inlay with liner notes from both Grutle Kjellson and Ivar Bjørnson, providing a historical perspective on the music, archival photos from the period and full lyrics.
