THREE DAYS GRACE drummer Neil Sanderson will be unable to sit behind the kit during the just-launched fall 2026 leg of the band's "Alienation" tour after rupturing the bicep tendon off the bone in his left arm. He will be temporarily replaced by ex-BREAKING BENJAMIN drummer Shaun Foist.

On Friday, October 23, Neil shared a video message in which he said:  "Hey, guys. Neil here. As some of you may know, when I'm not on tour with THREE DAYS GRACE, I'm an outdoorsman. I'm a woodsman, and I love nature. But sometimes nature gets the best of you, and that's unfortunately what's happened here.

"Without getting into details, I fully ruptured my bicep tendon off the bone, and I need emergency surgery, which is happening Tuesday. So the bad news is I'm not playing drums on this tour. The good news is, is I am playing keyboards and backup singing on this tour, and we've brought in Shaun Foist to fill in on drums.

"Unfortunately, I am missing three shows due to the surgery that's happening in a few days, so I won't be in Houston [October 25], San Antonio [October 26] or Rogers, Arkansas [October 28], which bums me out. But I'm gonna get this done, get it fixed, and be back on stage and on keys, backup singing, and we're gonna make it fun.

"So that's that. Thank you."

Sanderson is the drummer, backing vocalist and co-founder of multi-platinum-selling Canadian band THREE DAYS GRACE. Neil is among the few well-known drummers to sit open-handed, playing left-handed on a right-handed kit. Neil has cultivated a style that's equal parts dynamic and groove-heavy. Just as with the wide-open approach he takes to the kit, Neil leads a life that's rich with nuance.

THREE DAYS GRACE is touring in support of its latest album, "Alienation", which came out in 2025.

"Alienation" is the first THREE DAYS GRACE album to feature two lead singers. Original frontman Adam Gontier, who left the band in 2013, rejoined the group and shares vocal duties with his replacement, Matt Walst.
