RIVAL SONS bassist Dave Beste will sit out the band's upcoming "Domestic Bliss" U.S. tour in order to "handle some important matters at home". He will be temporarily replaced on the trek by BEN HARPER AND THE INNOCENT CRIMINALS bassist Darwin Johnson.
On Friday, October 23, RIVAL SONS released the following statement via social media: "We want to let you know that our brother and bandmate, Dave Beste, will unfortunately not be joining us on the upcoming 'Domestic Bliss Tour'. Dave needs to temporarily step aside to handle some important matters at home, and the band fully supports this decision.
"We are incredibly grateful to BEN HARPER AND THE INNOCENT CRIMINALS bassist Darwin Johnson for stepping up on such short notice to handle bass for this run. We look forward to seeing all of you out on the road!"
RIVAL SONS' U.S. tour will kick off on October 30 in Boise, Idaho and will finish up on November 29 in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
RIVAL SONS will be joined by Canadian blues rock duo THE BLUE STONES and Colorado based rock trio THE VELVETEERS on most shows.
RIVAL SONS have been back in the studio working on a new album, expected next year.
RIVAL SONS released their last albums, "Darkfighter" and "Lightbringer", in 2023, subverting expectations with two full-length albums in one year. Though born from the same creative cycle, the records are distinct in spirit — capturing RIVAL SONS in a state of constant evolution. That evolution has continued beyond the band, with RIVAL SONS frontman Jay Buchanan releasing his debut solo album, "Weapons Of Beauty", earlier this year, a more intimate and cinematic body of work that debuted at No. 10 on the U.S. Americana chart.
