FEAR FACTORY Releases First Single With New Singer MILO SILVESTRO, 'Roboticist'

Industrial metal pioneers FEAR FACTORY have released a new single, "Roboticist", via Nuclear Blast. The track marks the band's first release with FEAR FACTORY's latest additions, singer Milo Silvestro and drummer Pete Webber, who have been part of FEAR FACTORY's touring lineup for nearly three and a half years.
For more than three decades, FEAR FACTORY has explored the friction between man and machine, tracing the rise of artificial intelligence and humanity's loss of control over its own creations. Today, the band launches a bold new era with "Roboticist". The latest single, which premiered on SiriusXM Liquid Metal, blends crushing mechanical aggression with a haunting, melodic hook, while the lyrics explore a dystopian reality where flesh fails and only consciousness endures.
Produced, engineered, mixed, and mastered by Damien Rainaud, the single arrives alongside a cinematic music video directed by Vincente Cordero and produced by Arion Csihar. System activated: the next chapter of FEAR FACTORY has officially begun.
FEAR FACTORY guitarist Dino Cazares comments: "The future isn't coming; it's already here. 'Roboticist' is the next evolution of FEAR FACTORY. Man, Machine and the war for what comes next. I can't wait for everyone to hear the beginning of a new era of FEAR FACTORY."

In a recent interview with Poland's Strefa Music Art, Dino was asked if the "Roboticist" release "feels like the beginning of a completely new chapter" for FEAR FACTORY, Dino said: "Of course. It's a whole new era for FEAR FACTORY, and we've been promoting it that way live. 'Cause as of right now, we've only been playing all the back catalog of FEAR FACTORY, and people seem to love it. And one of the first things that Milo says is, 'Welcome to the new era of FEAR FACTORY.' That's exactly what it is. And so now, with the new song coming out, people are gonna be able to hear what that sounds like."
Regarding the lyrical inspiration for "Roboticist", Dino said: "Basically, what that is about is about the actual roboticist, the person that makes them. We call it the architect of the artificial. He's building machines to outlast the flesh."
After the interviewer noted that FEAR FACTORY has always explored themes like technological advancements and artificial intelligence on its previous albums, Dino concurred. "The future of computing and all that stuff and A.I., that goes all the way back to the '50s," the guitarist explained. "A.I. has existed for many, many years, but now it's just obviously become involved in everything that we use.
"There are a lot of people who complain about A.I., but the only way they're gonna get away from not using A.I. is to get rid of all their electronic devices and basically live in a mountain in a cave or something," Dino continued. "You have to live off the grid if you don't wanna use A.I., because it's in every aspect of our life and in every app. And it's in the algorithms, it's everywhere, so there's absolutely no escaping it. So you just kind of have to adapt to it."
Asked if A.I. makes it easier for bands to create new songs nowadays, Dino said: "Yes, it could if you decide to use it that way. But that's not the way that we've used it at all. We didn't use it for any music at all whatsoever. We still do it the way we've been using it. But you gotta understand, the recording devices that we use, it's in the software. It's in Logic Pro. It's in Pro Tools. It's all built into the algorithm, and there's no way escaping it. We use it as a tool for recording, but we didn't use it as a tool for writing."
An early instrumental version of "Roboticist" was made available in 2023 to promote the virtual guitar rig plugin and standalone app Toneforge Disruptor.
This past March, Dino told New Breed TV that "Roboticist" would appear on the band's next LP, explaining: "The arrangement slightly changed — for the better, of course. 'Cause it was originally written as an instrumental, and the ending part of the song is now the middle part of the song. And it sounds amazing. So you just gotta check it out when it comes out."
The "Roboticist" release coincides with the launch of FEAR FACTORY's "Cybernetic Domination" European tour with CRYSTAL LAKE, HATE and THE NOCTURNAL AFFAIR, which will kick off on August 29 in Poznan, Poland and conclude on October 10 in London, United Kingdom.
FEAR FACTORY recently announced a November 2026 U.S. tour with support from DARKEST HOUR and BROTALITY. The "Cybernetic Domination" trek will kick off immediately after FEAR FACTORY's upcoming co-headlining tour with Cleveland, Ohio-based masked metal masters MUSHROOMHEAD.
Silvestro's addition to FEAR FACTORY was officially announced in February 2023.
FEAR FACTORY played its first headlining concert with Silvestro and Webber on May 5, 2023 at the Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood, California.
FEAR FACTORY's latest album, the aforementioned "Aggression Continuum", was released in June 2021 via Nuclear Blast Records. The LP, which was recorded primarily in 2017, featured Cazares, Heller and Bell.
In September 2020, Bell issued a statement officially announcing his departure from FEAR FACTORY, saying that he "cannot align" himself with someone whom he does not trust or respect, apparently referring to Cazares.
