TEMIC, the international progressive metal supergroup, have released "Broken", the second advance single from their upcoming album Ceiba, accompanied by an official music video. "TEMIC are back in full bloom with Ceiba", Metal Injection wrote in this month's edition of the Progressive Injection, while Prog Magazine named lead single "Ceased to Be" a track of the week. Ceiba, the group's thunderous ode to loss, is out October 2nd via Season of Mist.

Like the tree depicted on the album's lush cover art, "Broken" marks the moment where Ceiba cracks open from a surge of grief. The song mourns the end of a codependent relationship over little more than ghostly synths and electronic drums that beat like a heart on life support. "Crushed by the weight of our burdens / We couldn't bear when it was over", Klemp sings, pushing his masterful vocal control until the last aching note leaves everyone in tears.

"'Broken' is built around overwhelming emotion and honesty", TEMIC vocalist Fredrik Klemp says. "We wrote the song in 30 minutes. It came together instinctively. There was no need to overthink it or make it into something more than what it already was. We simply allowed it to be what it is. I think that's where the song gets its strength".

"The honesty of this song became very important to my vocal performance", Klemp continues. "It connects to experiences and emotions that are deeply personal to me. Rather than distance myself from them, I wanted to let those emotions come through in my voice. My performance sits deliberately close to the edge, fragile and unsteady, as if it could give way at any moment. There is no real resolution to 'Broken'. I think that's part of why it feels so honest. It captures the point where what we carry quietly becomes too heavy to contain and the vulnerability of recognizing that same struggle in someone else".

Ceiba, TEMIC's second album, is out October 2nd, 2026 on Season of Mist. In Mayan culture, the titular tree is considered sacred for its connection between the earth, heaven and the underworld. "We love how the image of the Ceiba connects to the album's overarching theme of loss", TEMIC keyboardist and sound designer Diego Tejeida says. Drums and lead vocals were recorded at Lionheart Studio in Oslo, Norway, with lead vocals engineered and produced by Diego Tejeida.

Ceiba will be released on CD digipack, four vinyl variants and digital formats. TEMIC will perform "Broken" and other new material from Ceiba on their fall headline tour with special guests and label mates Kingcrow.
