Former Arch Enemy and The Agonist frontwoman Alissa White-Gluz has revealed two new additions to her solo band. Guitarists Alyssa Day (Mindscar, Absentia) and Daniella Sophia, known for her presence as a guitar influencer, have joined the lineup.
In an interview with the German edition of Metal Hammer, Alissa commented on the expanded lineup: “I am super thrilled to be working alongside two amazingly talented guitarists; Alyssa Day and Dani Sophia. So far the music we are making together is exactly what I have always wanted. I feel like they both have such unique playing styles that complement each other to make our collaborative work super heavy, energetic, catchy and evocative at the same time. I really couldn’t be happier and more honored to be working alongside such talented and inspiring musicians. Fans won’t have to wait long at all to hear and see what we have been up to!”
Guitar World did some detective work and shared the following information on Alissa’s new bandmates: “Day, who has also played in metal band Mindscar and instrumental prog metallers, Absentia, arrives with a weighty reputation, having been part of Jackson’s artist roster, and a notable guitar influencer for years. Meanwhile, Sophia has been enjoying an equally rapid ascent on social media, posting videos soloing over Meshuggah and Humanity’s Last Breath riffs, as well as slick jazz playing. That’s earned the guitarist an endorsement deal with electronics gurus Fishman, and caught White-Gluz’s attention in the process.”
Alissa confirmed her departure from Arch Enemy last November and has since devoted herself entirely to her long-awaited solo project, recently unveiling the single “The Room Where She Died.”
