Echo Cvlt officially launches with its debut single, “Diamond Hands” (feat. Ragga Ragnars & Buzzsaw), out now. The track features Derek Engemann, guitarist in Scour with Phil Anselmo (Pantera), former bassist for Cattle Decapitation and Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals, and the lead guitarist on this Echo Cvlt project, alongside Ragga Ragnars, known for her role as Gunnhild on History Channel’s Vikings.
Merging hard-style EDM with metallic guitar and bass riffs and melodic hooks, “Diamond Hands” is built for both the club and the stage. Fans of Darren Styles, DJ Isaac, and Steve Aoki will feel the energy, while Engemann’s heavy-metal pedigree gives the track a darker, aggressive edge that metal media will immediately recognize.
For Engemann, Echo Cvlt is a parallel creative outlet beyond traditional metal. “There’s a lot of music resting idle in the cellar,” he says. “This track’s main guitar hook goes back to 2008. It just needed the right context to shine.”
The collaboration began in 2022 when Engemann and Ragnars met at a biohacking conference in Beverly Hills. “I could hear her voice in the track before she even sang,” Engemann recalls. By chance, Ragnars had just returned to music, making the partnership feel inevitable.
Tracking began in San Diego and continued in Iceland, where the music video was filmed. The stark, volatile landscapes mirror the track’s intensity, cinematic feel, and heavy-metal DNA.
“Diamond Hands hits with hard-style EDM energy, melodic hooks, and metallic riffs. Ragga Ragnars’ vocals and Buzzsaw’s production ignite the dance floor and dare you to Hold On for Dear Life.”
This release marks the beginning of Echo Cvlt’s ongoing run of collaborations and new material for 2026 and beyond.
