To celebrate fifty years since the formation of Rainbow and the release of the debut album Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow, Demon Music presents a comprehensive deluxe CD box set covering the years 1975 to 1976. Along with the first two studio albums, the box set includes a trilogy of live albums from Rainbow’s debut world tour, documenting the band’s first European shows in Cologne, Dusseldorf and Nurnberg. The final disc features rare mixes, edits and studio rehearsal performances. All audio has been newly mastered by Andy Pearce and Matt Wortham.

When Rainbow arrived in Europe for their first concerts there, both Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow and Rainbow Rising had charted, and the band was performing to sold-out venues. The lineup at that time was Ritchie Blackmore, Ronnie James Dio, Cozy Powell, Jimmy Bain and Tony Carey.

As one of the cornerstones of British rock, Rainbow became synonymous with some of the most enduring and influential hard rock songs of the seventies and eighties.
