Today, New York steamrollers N.Y.C. are proud to release their debut album, Built To Destroy, available via Adrenalizing Media Network.
What would it sound like if AC/DC brawled with Judas Priest in an alley while Motörhead revved a Harley over the whole thing? Meet N.Y.C. and their debut album Built To Destroy. It’s heavy, it’s loud, it’s fed up, and it’s definitely not here to make friends.
Founded by lead singer and guitarist Tommy Bolan, born and raised in Queens, NY, and known as the six-string shredder behind Warlock’s platinum Triumph & Agony, N.Y.C. also features metal heavyweights Stet Howland (W.A.S.P., Metal Church) on drums and Steve Unger (Metal Church) on bass. Together, they channel the true sound of New York City: noisy, restless, pissed-off, and ready to rise from the gutter.
Built To Destroy was produced by Tommy Bolan, with Adrenalizing Media Network serving as Executive Producer. The album was recorded and mixed at Deep End Music Studios by Kenny Meriedeth and mastered by Robert Vosgien in Los Angeles, California.
On the release of Built To Destroy, Tommy Bolan expresses: “A lot of blood, sweat and sacrifice on so many levels has gone into the making of this album… I am proud to show these 13 songs of what has been a mad journey — I have learned that nothing in life is easy and you have to hammer home your dreams if you want to succeed and if you are lucky enough to have the right people believe in you — then you have a chance. Also, having the rhythm section from Hell (Stet Howland and Steve Unger) definitely increases the odds.“
Built To Destroy isn’t just an album, it’s a sonic 10-ton nuke honing in on your stereo. Brace yourselves.
In addition to the release of their debut record, N.Y.C. also shares the third single from the album, “Lyin Eyes.”
“Lyin Eyes” showcases N.Y.C.’s signature blend of raw power, groove, and unrelenting attitude, delivering a perfect mix of grit and adrenaline-fueled heaviness. The track is accompanied by a cinematic NEXTGEN Unreal Engine 5 music video that expands the NRCity universe, continuing the saga introduced in their previous visuals.
On the new track, Tommy Bolan comments: “I wanted to show a different groove of N.Y.C. with ‘Lyin Eyes.’ The song takes you on an emotional roller coaster that goes through the pain of emptiness and confusion that turns to anger as you become self-aware and grow. A journey of reflection to resentment.”
Markus Liedtke, who directed and produced the video, adds: “With the third music video, we’re completing what is more or less a trilogy — bringing N.Y.C. back not only to our previous location in NRCity, the Heaven ‘n’ Hell Bar, and the ‘dimension on the other side’ with its devastated landscape and environment, but also introducing new characters from the upcoming NRCity franchise. Two of the main characters from the comic book, series, and movie — Riko Stahl and Jasmin “Jazz” Zen — make their first appearance in this video, revisiting memories from the events of the comic book. Riko reflects on what happened between him and Jazz, a storyline that perfectly aligns with the lyrics of the song and the emotions Tommy expressed when writing it.”
Markus continues, “Once again, we have Hollywood veteran Walter Schulz on board. This time, we’re utilizing the Unreal Engine in a much broader way, combining it with previously unseen live-action footage from NRCity (shown exclusively at the Adrenalzing Media Network booth during San Diego Comic-Con) and a mix of advanced visual technologies.”

Built To Destroy is a full-on sonic tantrum and the festivities are coming in hot. The launch of Bolan’s signature guitar strings (via Optima Strings) is underway, alongside some – quite literally – epic and amazing videos with VFX veteran Walter Schulz (Emmy & Academy Award Winner and Hollywood VFX Director). Mr. Schulz and the team at Adrenalizing Media Network have been working with Unreal Engine and all their latest technologies, sparing no effort to get never-done-before uses out of the outstanding capabilities of the latest gaming tech. “Walter is a Master at his Craft and a perfect fit“ states Bolan, ”The visual world he has created captures the Intensity of N.Y.C.”
Tommy Bolan shares: “I wanted to write songs that were real to me. With our songs, we can vent our aggression while at the same time exorcise our demons of insanity. I’m the guy on the New York street corner screamin’ about everything, and you FEEL that intensity in our live show.”
Tommy continues, “Built To Destroy is basically the return for anyone to end all of the bullshit that has been dumped on them in their life. All of the madness, lies, and self-sacrifice of body, mind, and soul at the hands of others shall now be turned around. As my song says: I am ‘Tired of Smiling.’ All of this has made me the half man-half machine you see before you. I have returned to set my demons free and tolerate no one’s limitations any longer.”
