SPKR welcomes renowned UK label House of Mythology to the family.
House of Mythology is dedicated to releasing ambitious music across genres such as avant-garde, experimental, ambient, electronic, psychedelic, and progressive forms. Their catalogue includes celebrated releases by artists such as ULVER, CURRENT 93, ALORA CRUCIBLE, TELEPLASMISTE, STIAN WESTERHUS, DANIEL O’SULLIVAN, THE STARGAZER's ASSISTANT, ZU, and many more. Their attention to detail, high-quality LP editions, and distinctive visual identity makes them a naturally perfect fit for SPKR. House of Mythology has developed into a respected home for adventurous and enigmatic music, guided by a strong artistic vision.
With its focus on physical products and strong artistic vision, House of Mythology is perfectly complementing the SPKR family of labels that already includes Prophecy Productions, Magnetic Eye Records, Dependent Records, Kyrck Productions & Armour, Testimony Records, Kunsthall, and the book publishing company Index Verlag. SPKR has been collaborating with House of Mythology ever since their founding regarding production and distribution. As of now, SPKR will also handle all sectors concerning the operative business such as promotion, marketing, product management, and digital distribution, which includes the complete existing catalogue. The current label management will continue to sign responsible for A&R, and the artistic as well as strategic direction of the label.

House of Mythology was founded in 2015 as a UK-based label. From the start, the label was dedicated to releasing ambitious music across genres such as avant-garde, experimental, ambient, electronic, post-metal, and progressive rock.
The founders of House of Mythology were music agent Mark Lewis from the UK and Norwegian musician Kristoffer Rygg. Mark Lewis is also the founder of the award-winning UK-based Mythology Agency that is dealing in artist management, legal support, and international bookings. Kristoffer Rygg is an award-winning Norwegian musician, who rose to prominence with his acclaimed, multi-sylistic band ULVER but also contributed to the rise of ARCTURUS and BORKNAGAR. Rygg previously also owned the label Jester Records.
The House of Mythology catalogue includes celebrated releases by artists such as ULVER, CURRENT 93, ALORA CRUCIBLE, TELEPLASMISTE, STIAN WESTERHUS, THE STARGATER'S ASSISTANT, ZU, and many more. Known for their attention to detail, high-quality LP editions, and distinctive visual identity, the label has developed into a respected home for adventurous and enigmatic music, guided by a strong artistic vision.
Critically acclaimed milestones along the way include ULVER's landmark album "The Assassination of Julius Caesar" (2017) and its acclaimed follow-up "Flowers of Evil" (2020) as well as a series of carefully remastered reissues from the same band. The HYPNOPAZŪZŪ debut "Create Christ Sailor Boy" (2016) with David Tibet of CURRENT 93 and Youth of KILLING JOKE ranks very high, too. This also goes for the much celebrated expanded reissues from CURRENT 93's catalogue. Not to forget ZU's meditative masterpiece "Jhator" (2017) and the darkly cinematic collaboration "Embracing the Ruins" (2021) by MASSIMO PUPILLO, MÁRTON CSÓKÁS, and GABRIELE TINTI. Of course, the inventive works of Toby Driver's ALORA CRUCIBLE project definitely need to be mentioned in this enumeration; among many other masterpieces.
