Canadian metal legends ANVIL have released a brand new music video for the song "Truth Is Dying". The track is taken from the band's 20th studio album "One And Only", which came out in June 2024 via AFM Records. The effort was recorded in the summer of 2023 with longtime producer Martin "Mattes" Pfeiffer and Jörg Uken at Uken's Soundlodge studios in Germany. The same production team was responsible for ANVIL's previous four albums, "Anvil Is Anvil" (2016),"Pounding The Pavement" (2018),"Legal At Last" (2019) and "Impact Is Imminent" (2022).
The "Truth Is Dying" video was shot on location in Belgium, Sweden, and Switzerland during ANVIL's most recent European tour, which saw the band perform nine weeks of shows in support of "One And Only". Directed by Paul McGuire, the clip captures ANVIL's energy and raw authenticity that fans of the band have come to expect. McGuire, who also serves as the band's European tour manager, had previously worked with some of the most iconic names in rock and metal, including METALLICA, MEGADETH, Dee Snider and RAVEN.
ANVIL guitarist/vocalist Steve "Lips" Kudlow says: "We finally found the right time and place to shoot a music video 'Truth Is Dying', which is my favorite track from the newest album. We were hoping for this track to be the first single, but it didn't work out in the end, so it's awesome to finally get it done.
"Our European tour manager, Paul McGuire, just so happens to be an internationally renowned video director, so it's meant to be and happens right when it's supposed to.
"There is a very clear message laced within the lyrics of 'Truth Is Dying', and it speaks to people all over the world no matter where they are that you have to be very vigilant with what you're told and what you believe, in an age of disinformation."
ANVIL launched a headlining U.S. East Coast tour Thursday night (April 17) in Portland, Maine. Support on the trek is coming from comedian Don Jamieson and MIDNITE HELLION.
