Following their triumphant comeback with Stormbringers, Finnish melodic death metal powerhouse BEFORE THE DAWN return with full force to unleash their next sonic chapter: the new studio album Cold Flare Eternal, set for release on September 5th, 2025 via Reaper Entertainment.
After the explosive impact of the first single As Above, So Below, which showcased the band’s renewed energy and sharpened edge, Cold Flare Eternal now promises to deliver the full experience – an intense, emotional, and atmospheric journey into the depths of Nordic metal.

“To create, one must destroy.” This has long been the guiding mantra of Tuomas Saukkonen, one of Finland’s most prolific and influential metal musicians. Over the past two decades, he has shaped the scene through projects like Wolfheart, Dawn Of Solace, and of course, Before The Dawn.
Following the critically acclaimed return of Stormbringers in 2023 Cold Flare Eternal captures the momentum of a band reborn. Recorded once again at guitarist Juho Räihä’s studio, the album brings together crushing heaviness, soaring melodies, and the atmospheric beauty of Finland’s dark landscapes.
