Cherry Red Records is thrilled to announce the release of "The Roadrunner Years", a definitive 3-disc boxset from legendary progressive metal pioneers CRIMSON GLORY, arriving March 21, 2025!
CD 1 features the groundbreaking self-titled debut album (1986). CD 2 brings the iconic follow-up, "Transcendence" (1988), featuring the MTV favorite hit single "Lonely". CD 3 includes the experimental masterpiece "Strange and Beautiful" (1991), showcasing drummer Ravi Jakhotia (aka DJ Ravidrums). This release is complemented with the addition of liner notes by Darren Sadler, featuring new interviews with bassist Jeff Lords, plus rare photos and archive material from Lords' personal collection.
Formed in 1979 and later adopting the name CRIMSON GLORY in 1982, the band stood out with their haunting metallic masks and a sound defined by progressive harmonies and dramatic high-pitched vocals, led by the enigmatic frontman 'Midnight'. CRIMSON GLORY toured internationally with bands like ANTHRAX, METALLICA, QUEENSRYCHE, and Ozzy Osbourne. Their "Transcendence" album art was even featured in promotional material for the 1985 sci-fi film "Lifeforce".
Whether you're a long-time devotee or new to the CRIMSON GLORY experience, "The Roadrunner Years" is the ultimate collection celebrating the band's enduring influence on progressive and melodic metal.
