In early 2020, like many musicians around the world, Novena's plans for their debut album "Eleventh Hour" - ironically all about time and mortality – were upturned. Time felt like it had come to a standstill. So, bunkered down in quarantine in the UK, Novena set to work on a series of "Live From Home" performances culminating in a live EP, the aptly titled "Live From Home EP," which was released on July 30, 2021. Now, bringing the "Eleventh Hour" chapter to a close, Novena are proud to present 22 minutes of new music in a new 3-track EP, "The Stopped Clock." The single and video for the track 'Bury A Friend' (Billie Eilish cover) is out today. See the video here.

As an epilogue to "Eleventh Hour," "The Stopped Clock" is a dynamic, heartfelt exploration of the collective trauma of the past year. Expect all the bombast of their debut album, focused and refined into just three tracks. On October 1, 2020, time comes to an end.

Novena is also hosting a much delayed album release show for "Eleventh Hour" in London on October 30th. They'll be playing material from both '"Eleventh Hour" and "The Stopped Clock" EP.

"The Stopped Clock" EP Tracklisting:

1. The Stopped Clock
2. Bury A Friend
3. In Loving Memory

Novena is a new progressive metal/rock act from the UK that features Ross Jennings’ (HAKEN) unmatchable voice, Gareth Mason’s (Slice The Cake) inimitable poetry, Dan Thornton’s (Ex-HAARP Machine, Ex-No Sin Evades His Gaze) blistering guitar work, Cameron Spence’s (Ravenface) invariably musical drumming, Moat Lowe’s (Slugdge, Ex-NSEHG) expressive and versatile bass playing, and Harrison White’s (Theatrical Director and Composer) complex and nuanced compositions.

Novena established themselves on the UK and international prog scenes in 2016 with the release of their widely praised experimental EP “Secondary Genesis” in 2016 and their sophomore release, “Eleventh Hour” in 2020. Novena’s music moves from the profound to the profane, from the fragile to the unforgiving, and from the introspective to the utterly destructive, exploring a plethora of different genres along the way. Despite this, every song has a solid and personal identity, with choruses that dare the listener to try and not forget them.

Fans of intelligent, engaging, emotional music will have much to indulge their mind and spirits in with this band.
