Prepare yourselves for a journey back into the abyss, where shadows weave through symphonic grace and brutality echoes in every corner. NE OBLIVISCARIS, the titans of extreme progressive metal, are poised to release a remastered version of their iconic sophomore album, Citadel, in celebration of its 10-year anniversary. Mark your calendars for August 16th, 2024 – the day the updated version of this timeless concept album, remastered by Mark Lewis (who mixed & mastered 2023's Exul), will be released on all digital platforms.
First unleashed in 2014, Citadel stands as a monolith in NE OBLIVISCARIS’ discography, epitomizing their unique blend of ferocity and grace. With this remaster, the band has meticulously resurrected the album’s original power, ensuring every note, every growl, and every whisper of the violin rings clearer and more haunting than before.
In an epic reunion, drummer Dan Presland is returning after a 3-year absence, for the band's upcoming tour in Europe, the UK & Latin America. He'll bring with him the thunder and precision that only he can command. NE OBLIVISCARIS will reignite stages across Europe and the UK, delivering a sonic sermon of Citadel in its entirety alongside their latest opus, Exul, before the band performs a career spanning set across Latin America, including shows in South America for the first time ever.
Here's what NE OBLIVISCARIS have to say about this new step in their journey:
"First of all, we just wanted to thank Kevin Paradis who has done a wonderful job over the last 14 months as the band's live drummer on our EXUL world tour. Kevin has been part of some of our best ever tours and we are grateful for his contribution in creating so many special moments performing as a band during this time. Reuniting with Dan on drums was not something we had in mind until quite recently. But after 3 years apart, and a rekindled friendship, the lure of performing both 'Citadel' and 'Exul' albums in full with Dan behind the kit is something we are incredibly excited about. This exciting news, combined with our just completed European summer festival tour, the amazing new Mark Lewis re-master of 'Citadel' on the horizon (Aug 16) & our first ever tour through South America this November, sets up an amazing second half of 2024 for the band. See you all on the road!"
