Pontifex, the symphonic black metal band hailing from Orlando, Florida, has announced the release of their debut album entitled "From the Pale Mist," set for May 7, 2024. The album will feature an intriguing combination of ambient sounds, melancholic orchestrations and aggressive touches of thrash and death metal together.
Composed by Ashtin Duba, Kaleb Daniels, Dominique Leath, Deveron Christie and Rosaly Piderit, Pontifex has been the emerging phenomenon in the metal industry. Utilizing bands like Satyricon, Horna as models, the band keeps away from the usual sound of black metal, yet innovatively creates a sound that is overwhelmingly powerful.
The track carries the drumming prowess of Mike Smith , who used to play in death metal icon Suffocation. By incorporating more than just death metal, "From the Pale Mist" will definitely break the tone set by the genre. 'Abandon of All Hope' demonstrates the band's talent to integrate symphonic aspect along with heavy metal riffs, making the music both impressive and deep.
Fans of symphonic black metal will resonate amongst Pontifex's wistful melodies, and their dynamic creations. Every song out of "From the Pale Mist" takes listeners through a trip to the dark mysterious places that give them an eerie experience even as the listener is shocked at the same time.
Scheduled for later this month, keep up to date with Pontifex's new release. The Music from 'Pale Mist' will be available on all major streaming platforms on 7th of May, 2024.
