Roman Surman, guitarist for Wednesday 13, is relocating across the Atlantic, and as a result, has made the following announcement:
"Hey everyone, just a heads up... I will be sitting out the rest of the year with Wednesday 13 gigs, as I am in the process of moving to the UK to FINALLY live with my wife Shelly. Wednesday and I feel it's the right thing to do considering our upcoming recording and performing schedule for the remainder of the year. I am however interested in finding work in the UK (or travel covered), as I am focusing on building my base there. Performing, songwriting, recording, producing, and most touring work. I'm also itching to get back on the side of the stage, with guitar tech work / stage managing, as I have several years of professional experience with that as well. It sucks to miss out on all the good times, but the band will as always, continue to deliver you the best show possible. I wish them the absolute best time ever, as they are forever my family. For possible work opportunities, you can DM me here. Or if you'd just like to help with my big move and donate to the cause, my PayPal is romansurman@yahoo.com."
This past Saturday, April 27th, Wednesday 13 played their first show without Roman on guitar at Sick New World in Las Vegas, Nevada. Fan-filmed video can be seen here.
Prior to taking the stage in Sin City, W13 issued the following statement and photo: "This will be our first show with guitarist @official_ashes who will be joining us throughout the rest of our shows in 2024. See ya There!!"
Wednesday 13 has announced a UK & European tour celebrating 20 Years of Murderdolls, his iconic former band with Joey Jordison. Wednesday and his current solo band will be performing a full set of Murderdolls songs, chosen from their celebrated 2002 debut album, Beyond The Valley Of The Murderdolls and their triumphant 2010 return, Women And Children Last.
Wednesday explains: “After 21 years since its release, and the recent sad and premature passing of Joey, it only feels right to go out and celebrate these songs. We made two amazing albums that I was very proud of, and unfortunately much of the world didn’t get a chance to hear the songs live. In 2018, we all got together at Joey's house and discussed ideas and possibilities for the future, but we both had other immediate plans.
After an amazing run through the US performing these songs, we will now take the tour where the band began, in the UK and Europe this October/November. We will be performing tracks from both Murderdolls albums and celebrating the legacy of the band. Joining us on a handful of dates in the UK will be Sweden's rock n' roll saviours, Hardcore Superstar, and we will join them as support throughout dates across Europe.. We can’t wait to bring this tour to the UK and Europe later this year.”
