Ex-ASSASSIN Singer Robert Gonnella Revives RAGING ROB

Raging Rob was formed in early 2014 by former Assassin vocalist, Robert Gonnella, together with longtime metal brothers Dirk Preylowski (ex-Warrant), Frank Nellen (ex-Assassin), Maik Janssen (ex-Human Bastard) & Rudi Görg (ex-Human Bastard). The band rehearsed together and had 2 live shows.
Raging Rob evolved from Raging Mob, Robert's band with local musicians while living in China from 2005 to 2011. Raging Mob released their debut album in 2008 and the band took home the top prize winning the 2010 Wacken Metal Battle China. It was only a matter of time before Robert would identify with his new band and the fusion of his name and band would give him the new moniker, Raging Rob.
The band took a hiatus in 2015 as Rob battled drug addiction and took a year off for rehabilitation. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, it all picked up again summer 2016 with the band starting writing new (old) material. Easily described as a 100% old school thrash metal masterpiece, "Always the True Assassin" is the 12 song debut album recorded in the fall of 2017 and was released in 2018. The album was well received and had many great critcs.
During the Corona years then the band was put on another hold. The band stopped rehearsing together.
In spring 2023 the band decided to team up again and start rehearsing after the summer break to play live shows. At the first band meeting in summer Frank told the band members that due health issues he can't play a full live shows. Of course Frank remains as a band member, will be part of our live shows and will play several songs depending on his abilities. But now the band was looking for a new drummer.
Maik (& the band) rembered the great qualities of Contradiction drummer Patrick Nau (we once had a live show together with Contradiction) and through Rudi then Patrick was contacted. Patrick immediately was enthusiastic about Raging Rob and joined the band right away.
Curently the band is rehearsing and preparing their first live show on January 20th, 2024 in Düsseldorf with Darkness & Accuser in front of their home crowd of the D.D.T. (Düsseldorfer Death Thrasher).
